Project Settings

Fields

Each project within Jira requires a field to be designated as the field which you want to use to record and display story points.

Company Managed projects (Classic Jira) has a default "Story Points" field for recording this information, but you may choose to use your own, maybe a custom field which you've created.

Team Managed projects (Next Gen) does not default a field for this purpose and requires you to create one for this. The field which is created will need to be configured for all related Issue Types.

Due to this the Poker setup allows you to select the field which your organisation uses for each individual project.

Screens

Company Managed projects also require the chosen field to be associated with various screens. If the field is not associated with at least one compatible screen then the functionality of the Poker addon will not work. Jira simply does not allow us to submit a value to a field which is not displayed anywhere.
